AEH Innovative Hydrogel was proud to participate in UNCCD COP16, an event hosted by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. The British Embassy in Riyadh invited us to this important gathering, where we shared ideas with global leaders, researchers, and innovators committed to tackling some of the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges.
A Meeting of Minds
UNCCD COP16 is a platform for action against desertification and land degradation. It brings together organisations and individuals looking for solutions to these critical issues. Countries impacted by desertification often struggle with food production, water scarcity, and economic instability. This event focuses on strategies that address these challenges head-on.
Practical Solutions for Water Scarcity
At AEH, we’ve developed hydrogel technology to combat one of the key drivers of land degradation: water scarcity. These hydrogels hold water in the soil, helping plants grow with less frequent irrigation. They work in some of the harshest climates, making them a powerful tool for areas where water is limited but agriculture is essential for survival.
Why This Matters
Desertification isn’t just an environmental issue—it affects communities, economies, and ecosystems. When land becomes unproductive, it disrupts livelihoods and deepens poverty. By improving water efficiency and soil health, AEH’s hydrogels provide a practical way to help reverse these effects.
Learning and Sharing at COP16
Events like COP16 are more than just discussions. They’re about collaboration. At the event, we met with other organisations working on everything from reforestation to community-led farming initiatives. Hearing their experiences and sharing our own highlighted how different approaches can come together to address a shared problem.
A Commitment to Sustainability
Our hydrogel technology reflects AEH’s belief in sustainable solutions. It’s designed to provide long-term benefits, not just quick fixes. Seeing how other organisations at COP16 integrate sustainable practices into their work inspired us to push forward with our mission. We’re committed to making a difference that lasts.
What’s Next for AEH?
The conversations we had at COP16 gave us new energy to keep moving forward. We’re focused on expanding partnerships and making our technology accessible to more communities. The goal is simple: healthier land, better water use, and stronger local economies.
Get Involved
